USD Business Trash Collection

Service
Trash collection is available to businesses in the Urban Service District (USD). Businesses inside the USD are collected weekly. (If your business is in the Downtown Core Area, a different collection system applies.)

Businesses who have more trash than fall within the guidelines below, or who are outside the USD must contract with a private service for disposal.

Containers
Businesses may be issued 1 brown department approved container for refuse disposal and will be allowed to purchase 1 aditional container. All trash must be placed in the department approved container. Any excess refuse shall be disposed of at the expense of the owner or person in charge of the premises.

All trash should be bagged and each container should not weigh more than 50 pounds.

Collection
Businesses should set their containers out at the curb (except on streets where alleys are used).

In alleys, containers should be placed adjacent to, but not obstructing, the traveled portion of the alley.

Metro Public Works employees are not permitted on private property. Therefore, all containers should be as close to the curb / alley as possible.

Holidays
Trash is not collected on New Year’s Day, Fourth of July, Thanksgiving Day or Christmas Day. Any collection day that falls on one of these holidays will be picked up on Saturday of that week.
