Curbside Bulk Item Pick-up & Dead Animal Collection
Dead Animal collection on Metro-maintained streets and roadways is available to all Davidson County residents including satellite cities. Dead animals on private property should be placed at the curb or roadside for pickup. Call 880-1000 for more information or to report a dead animal for pickup. Dead animals on the interstate or state highways can be reported to TDOT by calling (615) 350-4405.
Metro Public Works and the Davidson County Sheriff's Office have partnered to offer bulk item and white goods collection services. To request a bulk item pickup, please call 862-8750.
In addition to the guidelines below, there is a limit of no more than six (6) items per address.
Items that will be picked up include
- Old furniture
- mattresses/box springs
- sofas/couches
- lawn furniture
- lawn mowers
- bicycles
- baby furniture
- exercise equipment
- toilets
- refrigerators
- freezers
- water heaters
- air conditioners
- ranges
- washers
- dryers
- automobile
parts, including:
fenders, hoods, metal bumpers, motor frames, transmissions, starters, alternators, radiators, rear ends, drive shafts, and brake rotors.
Bulk items that WILL NOT be picked up include
- dirt and sand
- rocks and concrete
- lumber
- landscaping timbers/crossties
- tree limbs
- batteries and motor oil
- tires
- paint or empty paint cans
- commercial or household chemicals and other hazardous materials
- chicken and fencing wire
- household hazardous materials
- storage sheds (wooden, tin, or vinyl)
- roofing
- carpets and carpet pads
- no remodeling, building or construction debris of any kind
- televisions
All items must be placed at the curb or near the edge of the street. The Sheriff's Office will not pick up items in alleys or on private property, including apartment and condominium complexes.
To place a Bulk Item pick up request, please contact Public Works Customer Service by calling 862-8750. You must place your items on the curb no later than 6:00 AM the morning after your request has been made. The Sheriff's Office will schedule your pick-up within 1-3 business days after your request is made.
