The Merrell Oyster Racing Series
On Saturday, September 6, 2008 try an Oyster! The Merrell Oyster Racing Series comes to Nashville. The urban adventure race will begin and conclude at the Hall of Fame Park. The Inaugural Nashville Oyster happens September 6, 2008 at Hall of Fame Park. We encourage you to invite others to experience the Nashville Oyster for themselves. It is truly a unique race that will benefit Greenways for Nashville . Teams can register online up until Friday at 1:00pm on September 5th. You can also register in person from 5pm – 7pm at Jack’s BBQ on Broadway where the team check in will be hosted.
Our own Stones River TrailWatch leader, R.J. Tazelaar has assembled a team. Show your support! If you would like to contribute to benefit the Greenways, you may go to the website, select Nashville and team Gresham Smith & Partners, and pledge your support or support your favorite team. Go!
Want to compete yourself? Teams are welcome to sign up all the way to September 5, the night before the race, at Jack's BBQ on Broadway from 5pm to 7pm. Teams are encouraged to register online however to receive helpful informational emails prior to the race. Dinner on the Bridge
On October 2, 2008 at 6:00pm, the second annual Dinner on the Bridge will celebrate Greenways for Nashville and the Metro Arts Commission. Invitations to Dinner on the Bridge, benefiting Greenways for Nashville and presented by Baron + Dowdle Construction, will mail early September. Nature Programs
The Warner Park and Shelby Bottoms Nature Centers offers a variety of free programs, activities and guided hikes at several Nashville Greenway locations including Shelby Bottoms, Beaman Park and Mill Creek Greenway. Call the Warner Park Nature Center office at (615) 352-6299 and Shelby Bottoms Nature Center office at (615) 862-8539 for more information.
In addition, Friends of Beaman Park offers guided hikes at Beaman
Park on the first Saturday of each month, and sponsors trail workdays
