Special Populations
Metro Parks and Recreation has offered a year round supervised program for individuals with disabilities for more than 35 years. A small dedicated staff plans and implements a variety of activities using parks’ community centers, as well as, various facilities in our community. Throughout the year we offer an adult day program and also organize monthly weekend activities for all ages. During the summer months we program for adults and youth through summer day camps. Our summer camps utilize peer groups to partner with our campers each day.
Registration is required and a waiting list is maintained for those interested. The program is headquartered out of Hartman Regional Community Center, 2801 Tucker Road.
