Administration and Finance Division

Our Administration and Finance Division contains the Finance Section, Customer Service Section, Information Systems Section, Public Information Office, and the Human Resources Section.

The Finance Section oversees the operating budget, capital budget, cost accounting, purchasing, contract management, communications and information systems, fixed assets tracking and inventory control.

The Customer Service section handles service requests and information inquiries for the department. Over 60,000 requests are replied to and resolved annually. All requests are recorded onto a computer database and investigated by field inspectors. A customer service representative follows up with the citizen once the inquiry is resolved. The Information Technology section provides support for data, voice, software applications and other related products to the department so that it can efficiently and securely meet it's business objectives.

  • Internet and intranet development, publishing and support
  • Problem troubleshooting and resolution
  • Business process improvement through the utilization of technology

  • Liaison with other Metro agencies and vendors on technological issues
  • Software and hardware maintenance contract administration
  • Software, hardware and peripheral procurement

The Human Resources section is responsible for employee recruitment, employee records maintenance, payroll, employee relations, employee training, and the department’s safety program. It is responsible for insuring that vacant positions are filled timely and in compliance with civil service guidelines.
