/ Fall 1999
"In 1999, the Metro Board of Parks and Recreation
allocated funding to expand and improve the Fitness
Center at the Centennial Sportsplex. The project began
in August of 1999 with the demolition of two offices
and a conference room adjacent to the existing fitness
center. This created about 30% more floor space for
the fitness center. Funding also included the purchase
of new exercise equipment. The existing Paramount equipment
was removed and relocated to other Metro Parks community
centers for continued use. The Sportsplex replaced the
equipment with a new line of Body Masters resistance
machines and added more treadmills and StairMasters.
On September 24, 1999, the newly remodeled fitness center
opened."
