The Accounting Section:

  • maintains the financial records of the department
  • processes all payments
  • accounts for all money received
  • keeps track of the location of equipment
  • sees that all transactions are properly accounted for
  • processes payroll
  • safeguards and accounts for assets of approximately 1.2 billion dollars.

Stores Management is responsible for 12,000 line items valued at over 2.5 million dollars and receives and issues materials and supplies to all sections and plants.

Human Resources maintains personnel files and records. When new employees are hired, they attend a New Hire Orientation that includes an electronic mail policy. Employees attend mandatory classes in Sexual Harassment Awareness, Substance Abuse, Diversity, and when applicable Defensive Driving, on a regular schedule. An Employee Education Reimbursement Program allows full-time employees to attend educational and vocational schools and facilities for training designed to fulfill departmental needs for scientific, technical, professional, and administrative skills.

A part-time Occupational Health Nurse assesses and treats work-related injuries and minor illnesses. The clinic provides health education and is available to immunize employees for flu, tuberculosis, hepatitis, and tetanus. Wellness clinics and community blood drives are held periodically throughout each year.
