Appointing a Political Treasurer
Before any monies are received or spent, (except for incidental expenditures to decide whether to run for office), a candidate must certify the name and address of a political treasurer to the Registry of Election Finance for a state election and to our office for a local election.
The Appointment of Political Treasurer form must be completed and filed. Incumbents running for re-election must file a new form. If a change in treasurer is made during the campaign, a new form must be submitted.
Campaign Finance Forms and Publications are published by the Tennessee Bureau of Ethics and Campaign Finance (TN BECF).
For detailed guidance, please reference the Campaign Finance Guidelines document, published by the TN BECF, or contact DCEC Finance Manager Rick Brown at 615-862-6466 or [email protected].
