The Metropolitan Government has basic pay plans covering most of its full time employees. There are two lists of classifications in the current pay plan: General Government and Public Safety. These classification lists contain various salary ranges depending on classification. See the links to the pay plans below.
Most of the plans include scheduled steps. Employees are typically hired at the first step and progress through the salary range with acceptable performance. The Open Range plan includes a minimum and maximum salary only, and employees may be compensated anywhere in the range, depending on performance as budgets allow. Open Range pay plans typically cover professional classifications requiring a college degree, and others as designated by the Civil Service Commission.
