The TechTies program brings together digital workforce development, virtual health monitoring, technology education, computer access, and broadband access—all in one convenient location for our community.
Metro’s selected site is at 1281 Murfreesboro Pike, a new Metro Action Commission (MAC) facility. This space will support:
- Expansion of MAC’s Workforce Development Program: Helping more residents build their skills for the job market.
- Dedicated Training Space: Offering digital education and workforce development programs to prepare individuals for today’s tech-driven world.
- A Computer Lab: With free broadband access and printing capabilities, residents can easily access the digital resources they need.
- Health Monitoring Equipment: Dedicated areas for clients to use health monitoring tools with the option to engage with clinicians.
- Private Health Consultation: This complements our virtual health monitoring services for a more personalized experience.
Digital Opportunity Support Includes:
- Holistic Digital Skills Training: Utilizing Tech Goes Home’s proven curriculum, we offer tailored training sessions for all ages and skill levels, from basic computer skills to advanced tech knowledge.
- Digital Navigators: This flexible model empowers community organizations to integrate digital inclusion support into their existing services, ensuring everyone gets the help they need.
- Tailored Support for Older Adults: Cyber Seniors will provide specialized sessions that focus on empowering older adults with essential digital tools, fostering confidence and independence in a supportive learning environment.
- Career Pathways in Tech: LocalTek will help bridge the digital divide by offering specialized training and apprenticeship opportunities, preparing participants for tech-related careers. Our partnerships with local tech companies will also create pathways for internships and job placements.
- Free Broadband Access: The computer lab at 1281 Murfreesboro Pike will offer free internet and computer access to the community. Plus, participants in digital education programs will receive devices to use during training and keep upon completion.
- Virtual Health Monitoring Program for Underrepresented Communities: This telehealth initiative provides in-house monitoring services, with data screening results sent to healthcare professionals for further education and online consultations.
