Resolution RS2018-1184

A resolution recognizing the 50th Anniversary of Lakeview Elementary Design Center.

WHEREAS, Lakeview Elementary Design Center celebrated its 50th Anniversary on Friday, April 13, 2018, and held a celebration for staff, students and the Antioch community; and

WHEREAS, Lakeview Elementary serves students in grades PreK-4 and offers a challenging curriculum with emphasis on character education, responsibility and respect; and

WHEREAS, the school proudly serves a diverse population in southeast Nashville and helps students grow both intellectually and emotionally; and

WHEREAS, Lakeview offers blended learning opportunities throughout the school, and faculty, staff, and administration members work closely together to help ensure a close-knit community within the school; and

WHEREAS, a broad range of experiences and perspectives is brought to the school by culturally, linguistically, socio-economically and ethnically diverse students, which offers a powerful resource for everyone to learn in different ways with different types of people; and

WHEREAS, Lakeview Elementary Design Center is a resilient and invaluable resource for all students, teachers, and the entire Antioch community; and

WHEREAS, for fifty years Lakeview Elementary has equipped students with the tools to become intelligent and productive higher education candidates, and has prepared them to be work force ready; and

WHEREAS, the success and prosperity of Lakeview Elementary Design Center would not be possible without the dedicated work of the exceptional faculty, staff and administration; and

WHEREAS, staff and students always follow the Lakeview Elementary Design Center moto of “They’re lions today, and they’ll be leaders tomorrow!”; and

WHEREAS, it is fitting and proper that the Metropolitan Council recognizes Lakeview Elementary Design Center on their 50th Anniversary and wish the school many more years of educational success.


Section 1. The Metropolitan Council hereby goes on record as recognizing Lakeview Elementary Design Center as it celebrates its 50th Anniversary.

Section 2. The Metropolitan Council Office is directed to prepare a copy of this Resolution to be presented to Lakeview Elementary Design Center.

Section 3. This Resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
