Man Wanted on a Multitude of Outstanding Warrants in Custody



 East Precinct undercover detectives today arrested convicted felon Jaray Christmon, 32, who was wanted on a multitude of outstanding warrants charging him with aggravated robbery, multiple counts of assault, burglary, and evading arrest.

For the last several months, detectives diligently pursued multiple leads as to Christmon's whereabouts which resulted in Christmon's arrest this morning outside an apartment building in the 300 block of Wallace Road. Christmon exited a Dodge Charger and attempted to flee on foot but was apprehended a short time later. Recovered from the car were a loaded .40 caliber handgun, 14 grams of cocaine, prescription medication, digital scales, and $3,026 cash.

In addition to today's charges of gun possession during the commission of a felony, drug possession, and evading arrest, Christmon is now charged with the August 2020 armed robbery and assault of three persons at 270 Tampa Drive. He is accused of shooting one of the victims twice in the leg before fleeing with the victim's cash.

Christmon is also charged with aggravated assault for the December 2019 shooting outside the M Market, 234 Thompson Lane. The victim had gotten into a verbal argument with Christmon in the parking lot. After the victim got into his vehicle, Christmon walked over to him, produced a pistol, and shot the victim in the leg.

Christmon, who has prior felony weapon and drug convictions, is jailed in lieu of $300,000 bond.
