Public Notice: Department of Emergency Communications Scheduled for Site-Based Assessment to Achieve CALEA Accreditation

The Metro Nashville Department of Emergency Communications is scheduled for a site-based assessment as a part of a program to achieve accreditation by verifying it meets professional standards.
Administered by the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies, Inc. (CALEA®), the accreditation program requires agencies to comply with state-of-the-art standards in four basic areas: policy and procedures, administration, operations, and support services.
Agency employees and the public are invited to offer comments by calling 615-401-6397 on Tuesday July 27, 2021 between the hours of 2 p.m and 4 p.m. Comments will be taken by the assessment team.
Telephone comments are limited to 10 minutes and must address the agency’s ability to comply with CALEA’s standards. A copy of the Standards is available by mail or email from the Metro Nashville Department of Emergency Communications. The local contact person is the CALEA Accreditation Manager, Denise Walsh.
