George Beasley Charged with Criminal Homicide After Stabbing Victim Dies
Detectives today charged George Beasley, 69, with criminal homicide in connection with a July 9 altercation outside of a Monroe Street grocery store that led to the stabbing of Michael Wade, 57. Wade died on July 18 from complications of being stabbed in the abdomen. The Medical Examiner’s Office determined the manner of death to be homicide during an autopsy Monday.
When officers responded to the scene of the stabbing on the morning of July 9, both Wade and Beasley were present. Wade told officers that Beasley was responsible and Beasley surrendered a knife to them.
