Three Teen Burglary Suspects in Custody

Three teens who are in custody face burglary and theft charges after one of them accidentally shot himself in the leg this afternoon while sitting in a green Cadillac outside Household Pawn at 2317 Murfreesboro Pike.
The 16-year-old who shot himself went inside the pawn shop to get help from the other three who were attempting to pawn a TV stolen earlier today from an Ainlay Drive home. When seeing their injured accomplice, they left the TV and fled the store.
The teen who shot himself and a 19-year-old woman identified as April Lopez, fled on foot. The other two suspects, both 17, drove off in the Cadillac. Traffic Officer Ron Bright spotted the suspect Cadillac in a church parking lot near the pawn shop. The two teens were taken into custody. Additional items taken during the Ainlay Drive burglary were recovered from the car. They will be charged in Juvenile Court with aggravated burglary, felony theft, and burglary of a motor vehicle that had been broken into on Oak Grove Drive.
The teen who shot himself was also apprehended. He will be charged upon his dismissal from Vanderbilt University Medical Center where is in stable condition. Lopez remains on the loose. Warrants against her are outstanding.
