Community Foundation Fund Created to Support the Work of the MHRC
Over 150 people gathered last night for the inaugural Metro Human Relations Commission (MHRC) Support Fund Event. The benefit was hosted by Councilmember Megan Barry and her husband, Bruce.
This event promoted the MHRC Support Fund, an interest fund maintained by the Community Foundation of Middle Tennessee. The fund will be used to augment special projects, events, and professional development for the MHRC. The highlight of the evening was the live auction of a collage created on-site by local artist Bryan Parker. The auction was emceed by WSMV reporter, Jonathan Martin, with proceeds going to the MHRC Support Fund.
The MHRC deeply appreciates former Commissioner Iris Buhl, creator of the fund, and its Advisory Board members, Erik Cole, Deb Palmer George, and Damien Wynn. Commission members and staff also thank the many contributors, supporters, and volunteers who helped make this first event a success.
