Search Continuing for Man Who Jumped into Cumberland River This Morning

July 5, 2013

Office of Emergency Management boats are in the Cumberland River searching for a man who jumped off the Victory Memorial Bridge downtown at 8:30 a.m. today.
Samuel Christopher Hagens, 19, of Nolensville, was first noticed acting strangely at the MTA bus station at 4th & Charlotte.  He ran from there to 3rd Avenue and passed police headquarters before going to the bridge.  Hagens removed his pants, left them on the bridge, and jumped more than 30 yards into the river.
