Medical Condition May Have Caused Single-Vehicle Crash

A medical condition may have caused the death of a Nashville mother whose SUV ran off the roadway in the 3600 block of Chesapeake Drive.
Demetrius Nichole Ellis, 32, of Lauren Evelyn Way was driving her 2009 Nissan Rogue northbound on Barbara Lynn Way when the SUV traveled through the intersection and across Chesapeake Drive into a yard where the vehicle continued through a chain link fence and struck a tree just after 7 a.m. Ellis was transported to Skyline Medical Center where she was pronounced dead. Her three-month-old son was seated in the back. He was not injured.
