Andre Lewis Sought for Questioning in Murder Case

February 28, 2014

East Precinct detectives are asking for the community’s assistance in locating Andre Dewayne Lewis, who is wanted for questioning in connection with last Saturday’s murder of Ronald Sanders in the 500 block of Sylvan Street in the James Cayce public housing development.
The investigation to this point leads detectives to believe that Lewis, 20, who is last known to have lived on S. 8th Court, has important information in regard to the homicide.  Efforts to locate Lewis this week have been unsuccessful.
Arrested and charged with murder in this case last Saturday was Christian Brown, 27.  Witnesses reported that Brown and a second suspect approached Sanders, 26, and demanded money.  When Sanders refused, a heated argument ensued between the three men and Sanders was shot.  Brown remains in the Metro Jail.
Anyone seeing Andre Lewis or knowing his whereabouts is urged to contact Crime Stoppers at 74-CRIME.   Citizens can also send an electronic tip to Crime Stoppers by texting the word “CASH” along with their message to 274637 (CRIMES) or online at
