31 New Officers Graduate from MNPD Academy

March 7, 2014

Thirty-one dedicated men and women were rewarded with Metro police badges on March 6th as their perseverance in the department’s rigorous 5 ½ month training program led to them being sworn in as Nashville officers during a ceremony at Faith is the Victory Church on Walton Lane.  Thirteen other persons who began the class last October decided to drop out along the way.
Mayor Dean and Chief Anderson presided over the ceremony.  This was the 19th class of new officers to graduate since Mayor Dean took office in 2007 and is indicative of the commitment of the city to keep pace with attrition and maintain a fully staffed police force.
