One of the drivers in today’s noon three-vehicle crash on I-65 south near the Rosa Parks Boulevard exit has died.
The investigation shows that an Acura SUV, driven by Steve Van Corum, 68, of New Hope, Alabama, changed lanes and struck a semi-truck. The Acura veered back into its original lane and was then hit by a Toyota SUV. Corum was critically injured and transported to Vanderbilt University Medical Center where he died this afternoon.
The preliminary cause of the crash appears to be the Acura’s failure to maintain its proper lane of travel.
