A third man suspected of being part of a burglary crew in which a sledgehammer was used to smash their way into scores of Nashville businesses over the past five months has now been arrested and charged. Detectives have received information that Brandon L. Fisher, 28, was an organizer of the burglaries.
Specialized Investigations Division detectives on Thursday afternoon apprehended Fisher on outstanding domestic assault and failure to appear in court warrants. He was taken into custody just as he was getting into his Mercedes sedan on 25th Avenue North. During a subsequent interview, Fisher denied having any knowledge of business burglaries. However, a search Thursday night of Fisher’s Madison Boulevard residence turned up several items of clothing and shoes that were seen on video surveillance during multiple business burglaries. Moreover, a Honda Civic stolen from Murfreesboro and used to transport suspects in the business burglaries had been at Fisher’s residence earlier this month.
Fisher was charged during the night with five burglaries of restaurants and clothing stores. His bond is set at $105,000. Multiple additional burglary charges against Fisher and two alleged accomplices are expected when all of the information on this months-long investigation is presented to the Davidson County Grand Jury. The other two, Martinicky Guerrier, 39, and Keith McClellan, 28, were arrested overnight Wednesday after a burglary of a West Nashville Starbucks. They remain in jail.
Investigations involving this burglary crew are continuing in other Middle Tennessee counties.
A number of MNPD components, including detectives from all eight precincts, the Violent Crimes Division, Specialized Investigations Division, Aviation (including THP Aviation) and Canine, have taken part in the Nashville investigation of the burglaries.
