ORDINANCE NO. BL2011-964
An ordinance approving the disposition of a certain parcel of real property located at 106 Old Brick Church Pike in Goodlettsville, known as the former Goodlettsville Public Library, by the Director of Public Property (Proposal No. 2011M-015PR-001).
Whereas, the Metropolitan Government owns a certain parcel of property identified as Exhibit A; and
Whereas, the Metropolitan Government has determined that this parcel of property is no longer needed for its governmental purposes; and
Whereas, the Director of Public Property is authorized to dispose of said property subject to the approval of the Metropolitan Council and the Mayor; and
Whereas, this property will be donated to the City of Goodlettsville to be used for a public purpose benefitting its citizens.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ENACTED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY;
Section 1. The Metropolitan County Council declares that the Director of Public Property is hereby authorized and directed, in accordance with this ordinance and the rules and regulations for the disposal of surplus real property, to dispose of the property listed in the attached Exhibit A, to the City of Goodlettsville.

Section 2. The Director of Public Property shall include a reversionary clause in the deed of conveyance which specifically requires that the City of Goodlettsville shall not transfer or dispose of this property, by lease or otherwise, and shall only use it for a public purpose benefitting the citizens of the City of Goodlettsville.
Section 3. This ordinance shall take effect from and after its final passage, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.

Amendment No. 1
Ordinance No. BL2011-964
I move to amend Ordinance No. BL2011-964 by deleting the provisions of Section 2 and substituting with the following new provisions:
“The Director of Public Property shall include a reversionary clause in the deed of conveyance specifically requiring that the City of Goodlettsville and all successor owners or lessees only use the property for a public purpose benefitting the citizens of the City of Goodlettsville.”
