ORDINANCE NO. BL2014-955
An ordinance approving an exchange of real property interests between the Metropolitan Government and MFP Real Estate LLC for construction of a minor league baseball stadium and related improvements (Proposal No. 2614M-029PR-001).
WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Government is building a minor league baseball ballpark and related improvements (collectively, the “Project”) in the area known as Sulphur Dell; and,
WHEREAS, to facilitate the Project, the Metropolitan Government and MFP Real Estate LLC propose to exchange their interests in the parcels of real property described herein; and,
WHEREAS, by quitclaim deed in the form attached as Exhibit 1, the Metropolitan Government proposes to acquire the real property therein described and shown as lots B and D on the drawing attached as Exhibit 3 (the “Metro Properties”) for use in connection with the Project; and,
WHEREAS, by quitclaim deed in the form attached as Exhibit 2, the Metropolitan Government proposes to convey the real property interests therein described and shown as lots A and C on the drawing attached as Exhibit 3 (the “MFP Properties”) to MFP Real Estate LLC for a development near the Project site; and,
WHEREAS, it is in the best interest of the citizens of Nashville and Davidson County to approve the exchange of properties described herein.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ENACTED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:
Section 1. Acquisition of the Metro Properties by deed in the form of Exhibit 1 is approved.
Section 2. Disposition of the MFP Properties by deed in the form of Exhibit 2 is approved.
Section 3. The Metropolitan Mayor or his designee is authorized to execute such documents as are necessary to effect the conveyances contemplated herein.
Section 4. This ordinance shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
