ORDINANCE NO. BL2016-158
An ordinance amending Title 2 of the Metropolitan Code of Laws related to the enforcement of the Metropolitan Codes and reporting requirements.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:
Section 1. Section 2.20.020 of the Metropolitan Code is hereby amended by deleting subsection A in its entirety and replacing it with the following:
The enforcement of all laws, ordinances, and regulations, including, but not limited to, electrical installations, building and construction, plumbing installations, gas/mechanical installations, the housing code, and the zoning code and regulations;
Section 2. Section 2.20.040 of the Metropolitan Code of Laws is hereby amended by deleting subsection A.5. in its entirety and replacing it with the following:
All complaints filed with the department of codes including, but not limited to, the type of complaint, the location of the complaint subject, the date received, and when and how the complaint was resolved, organized by council district;
Section 3. Chapter 2.40 of the Metropolitan Code of Laws is hereby amended by adding as a new section 2.40.105 as follows:
2.40.105 – Report of claims brought by metropolitan government for violations of metropolitan code
The metropolitan attorney shall report to the metro council on a quarterly basis the number and types of actions brought by the metropolitan law department that are related to the violations of the metropolitan code.
Section 4. That this Ordinance shall take effect immediately after its passage, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
