Metro Arts: Nashville Office of Arts + Culture is now accepting proposals for artist-led, community-centered Thrive projects for the upcoming fiscal year. Thrive provides funding to artists in collaboration with organizations in order to cultivate and strengthen communities in Davidson County. Individual artists, artist teams, non-profit organizations, and small for-profit organizations are invited to apply. Up to $20,000 is available per awarded project.
"Metro Arts’ Thrive is an opportunity for artists to really have the community, the funding and the backing to make ideas come to life,” said artist, poet laureate, and past Thrive recipient Cameron Mitchell. “I am super grateful that I had this opportunity to share my art in unconventional spaces. Doing something new that I hadn’t thought about before is always exciting to me.”
Awarded projects align with Metro Arts’ mission, goals and objectives by:
- actively engaging residents through community input in project planning, decision-making and art-making
- exhibiting and promoting cultural equity in project design, process and content
- impacting neighborhoods or communities
“Thrive centers local Nashville area artists, people who have made our city renowned for its cutting-edge culture.” said Daniel Singh of Metro Arts. “As Nashville continues to grow, we are committed to investing in the creativity and innovation of individual artists. Ultimately, this will drive a more equitable Nashville where everyone benefits from our city’s success.”
