The Metro Nashville Beer Board would like to remind all beer permit holders of the regulations governing the sale and consumption of beer on licensed premises, as outlined in Ordinance 7.08.140. This ordinance specifies the restricted times during which beer sales are prohibited.
According to Ordinance 7.08.140 Prohibited Acts—By Permit Holders, Agents, or Employees:
It is unlawful for any beer permit holder, their agent, or employee:
D. to sell, give away, or allow beer to be consumed on any licensed premises during the following times:
- Weekdays: From 3:00 a.m. to 6:00 a.m.
- Sundays: From 3:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m.
However, an exception exists for beer permit holders covered under Section 57-4-203(d)(6) of the Tennessee Code Annotated, as specified by House Bill 1289 (2017 Tenn. Pub. Ch. 371). These permit holders are allowed to sell, give away, or allow the consumption of beer on their premises during any hours they are permitted by state law to sell or give away alcoholic beverages, with the only restriction being from 3:00 a.m. to 4:00 a.m.
The Metro Nashville Beer Board emphasizes the importance of adhering to these regulations. Any violations may result in penalties, including fines, suspension, or revocation of the beer permit. We encourage all permit holders to review their practices and ensure that they remain in compliance with the specified sale and consumption times.
