Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP)
To apply for the Low Income Energy Assistance program please fill out and submit the application:
- 2024-2025 fillable Metro Action Application for Services
- Self Declaration of Zero Income (If you do not have income, please submit this form with your energy assistance application)
LIHEAP provides assistance with payments of Electric, Gas, Propane or other energy resource bills. You do not have to own the home to get assistance and your energy source does not have to be gas or electric in order to receive services (propane, wood, kerosene and coal are also covered under this program).
If you need assistance it is important that your services are in an “active status” meaning your bill is not considered a final bill. We cannot pay on an accounts that are in collections, requires re-connection fee or deposit under this program. Please allow us enough time to process your payment prior to the threat of disconnection, however if your account has been disconnected we still may be able to help.
Please be sure to bring your proof of income of everyone that earns an income within the home (if you do not have income, please our "zero income form" found on our main page), the 12 month billing history provided by your energy supplier, social security cards of everyone in the home and the most current monthly bill.
Applications may be mailed or brought in to our office. See addresses below.
