Step into summer with purpose: Embark on a journey of health, connection, and community spirit with the 2nd Annual Walks with the Trustee!
Summer 2024, Erica Gilmore will hit the streets of Nashville with renewed vigor for "Walks with the Trustee 2024"!
In collaboration with America Walks and Walk Bike Nashville, Trustee Erica Gilmore invites you to be a part of this effort towards a greener, more walkable Nashville and Davidson County.
The 2nd Annual Diane Nash Commemorative Walk is one part of the greater Nashville and Davidson County's celebration of the Civil Rights trailblazer who played a pivotal role as an activist, leader, and strategist in the student wing of the Civil Rights Movement.
Councilwoman Zulfat Suara's “Dedicating Diane Nash Plaza: A Celebration of Courage and Conviction” event the following day on April 20, 2024 also uplifts the Civil Rights Movement leader. Visit www.dianenashplaza.com to learn more about the Councilwoman Suara’s dedication.
This walk, in partnership with Walk Bike Nashville and reflecting Trustee Erica S. Gilmore's role on the America Walks board, emphasizes the importance of safe, accessible, and equitable transportation options for all.
The Faith Leaders Walk brings together faith communities to advocate for unity and justice, also promoting the idea that mobility rights are essential for accessing spaces of worship and community gathering.
Walk with Pride offers a platform for LGBTQ+ members and allies to stand together, highlighting the role of inclusive public spaces in supporting equality.
Lastly, the New Americans Walk celebrates the diverse journeys of immigrants, emphasizing how mobility justice ensures their right to move freely and safely within their new community.
Through these walks, we champion the cause of making Nashville a more walkable, bikeable, and equitable city for everyone.
Let's walk together towards a healthier, more connected Nashville.
