Vehicle Registration Renewal by Mail

When renewing by mail, please include one of the following:

• Renewal notice
• Copy of Vehicle Registration
• License plate number and Vehicle Identification Number (VIN)

When renewing by mail, only checks will be accepted and should be made payable to the Davidson County Clerk’s Office. Please ensure your payment is for the correct amount (Renewal Amount).

Additionally, please include your current TN Driver License number and daytime phone number. Checks are accepted on Tennessee banks only.

When renewing a specialty license plate, some specialty plates require membership or eligibility credentials. Please visit the specialty plate page, to determine eligibility.
