The Equal Business Opportunity Annual Report, Fiscal Year 2020, details efficacy of the race and gender specific equal business opportunity program. Highlights from the first year include:
- $8.9 million increase in proposed spending with woman owned businesses;
- $7.2 million increase in proposed spending with black and brown owned businesses;
- 250% increase in proposed participation of black, brown, and women owned subcontractors;
Where the program applied, there was an average proposed subcontractor participation of 14 percent for woman owned firms and 7 percent for black and brown owned firms. These project specific targets are based upon availability of firms as defined by the most recent disparity study.
