The Metropolitan Action Commission’s POWER Youth program partners with area employers within Metro Government, businesses, non-profits, and other organizations to provide paid summer work experiences for Davidson County youth and young adults between the ages of 14-24 years old.
All positions, except for the year-round positions, will begin June 3 and end July 19. Applicants must have a Davidson County address to be eligible for the POWER Youth Summer Employment program.
To access the portal, youth applicants should go to poweryouth.nashville.gov. The youth summer opportunities are coordinated by age-appropriate groupings.
- Ages 14-15. Experience Work participants make $12 per hour while working on art or community development projects.
- Ages 16-19. High School Interns make $15 per hour work independently at private, public, non-profit, and university job sites, and receive pre-program training and coaching to ensure they have the skills needed on the job.
- Ages 20-22 Youth Ambassadors (must be a college student) make $18 per hour working with youth at various summer programs
Dedicated computers are available at the agency’s main location (800 2nd Avenue North) and various community locations to ensure youth and young adults have access to computers to create their POWER Youth free account and access to the online portal to apply for the summer positions.
