Temporary Modification of Second Amended and Restated Order 10 and Amended and Restated Order 11 From the Chief Medical Director
Pursuant to the Declaration of Public Health Emergency adopted by the Board of Health for Nashville and Davidson County on March 15, 2020
From: Dr. Michael C Caldwell, Chief Medical Director of Health
Whereas, there is public health value in community; and
Whereas, this community has done so much for so long to combat COVID-19, at no small cost; and
Whereas, Nashville’s substantial and sustained effort has reduced our new COVID-19 cases to a lower level than we have seen through much of the summer; and
Whereas, as Nashville continues its incremental reopening, all evidence for how to gather safely is valuable guidance; and
Whereas, a preview of expanded business hours generally has potential benefits for future decisions; and
Whereas, a temporary expansion of business hours may help reveal the strengths, weaknesses and adaptability of the city’s expanded and extended enforcement mechanisms; and
Whereas, a Tennessee Titans opening game is an event that can help inform responses to events where people’s emotions are potentially high; and
Whereas, social cohesion is an important aspect of overall health in a community, and under these difficult circumstances may benefit from a small semblance of normalcy.
Accordingly, Second Amended and Restated Order 10 from the Chief Medical Director issued on August 31, 2020, and Amended and Restated Order 11 from the Chief Medical Director issued on August 31, 2020, are hereby temporarily modified to further protect public health.

Except as modified herein, the Second Amended and Restated Order 10 from the Chief Medical Director issued on August 31, 2020, and Amended and Restated Order 11 from the Chief Medical Director issued on August 31, 2020 remain unchanged and in effect.
