Subject: Designation of a Portion of the Historic Courthouse Parking Garage Corridor as a Commemorative Space for Metro Council Members’ Signatures and Notations
Whereas, members of the 15th Metropolitan County Council have served with distinction and dedication for the benefit of all Nashvillians from 2019 to 2023; and
Whereas, in commemoration of their service to the people of Nashville and Davidson County, Tennessee, it is fitting and proper that each member of the 15th Metropolitan County Council be permitted to affix their signature and other notation to a specially designated commemorative space within the Historic Courthouse Parking Garage Corridor.
Now, therefore, I, John Cooper, Mayor of the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, by virtue of the power and authority vested in me, do hereby find, direct, and order the following:
- A portion of the Historic Courthouse Parking Garage Corridor is hereby designated as a “commemorative space”, to be maintained as such by the Metropolitan General Services Department.
- Members of the 15th Metropolitan County Council shall be authorized and permitted to affix their signatures and other notations within the designated commemorative space on August 15, 2023.
