Helen Hughes and Lovie Grant have completed certification as County Finance Officers by the Tennessee Comptroller’s Office.
Members of the Register of Deeds’ leadership team, Hughes and Grant completed the Certified County Finance Officer (CCFO) program through the University of Tennessee’s County Technical Assistance Service (CTAS).
They participated in more than 13 months of training and testing through the university-level program.
The Certified County Finance Officer program, which was started in May 2018, provides professional development in accounting and financial reporting as well as curriculum about how local government is structured in Tennessee. The aim of the program is to sharpen the skills of finance personnel and provide the knowledge needed to improve management of county finances.
It was developed by the office of the Tennessee Comptroller of the Treasury and County Technical Assistance Service.
