Renee’ Pratt
Executive DirectorRenee’ Pratt is the Executive Director of Metropolitan Social Services, having previously served as Interim Executive Director beginning in January 2009. Prior to her appointment, Ms. Pratt served as the department’s director of administration and also led the Division of Planning and Coordination.
Ms. Pratt has worked with the department since 1992 and held several positions before becoming Director of Administration in 2005. Ms. Pratt left the department to work at the Tennessee Department of Human Services for approximately one year, serving as Family Assistance Director and District Administrator of the DHS local office.
A native Nashvillian with the exception of an intermission in Seattle, Washington, for four years at the end of the 1990s, she has always been faithful to her hometown. Ms. Pratt received a B.S. degree from Trevecca University and a Masters of Public Administration degree from Cumberland University.
Under her leadership, since 2009 Metro Social Services has annually conducted and published the Community Needs Evaluation, a comprehensive data resource for the planning and coordination of social services to meet the needs of Davidson County residents who live in poverty.
Ms. Pratt has redirected the focus of the department, which now includes a strong planning and coordination function next to the direct services MSS provides through its homemaker and nutrition programs, homelessness prevention, as well as evaluation and referral services of its customers.
