Taxes must be paid in full by the last day of February of the following year to avoid interest.

The Office of The Metropolitan Trustee is committed to transparency, inclusivity, and cooperation. We provide effective and efficient services while earning the public’s trust. Our staff respects and values each taxpayer. We provide the taxpayers of Metropolitan Nashville and Davidson County with the highest level of professionalism, integrity, knowledge, and expertise.
Purpose
The Office of the Trustee is a Constitutional office that was established as a tax collection agency for each county in the state of Tennessee. The Trustee in Davidson County collects Real Property, Personalty and Public Utility Taxes. This office also administers the State of Tennessee Tax Relief Program,Tax Deferral Program, Tax Freeze Program, collects and processes Delinquent Taxes, Central Business Improvement District Taxes, Gulch Central Business Improvement District Taxes and Vegetation Liens.

Pay Your Property Taxes at First Horizon
In cooperation with the Metropolitan Trustee’s Office, First Horizon Bank (formerly First Tennessee Bank) will be accepting Metro Davidson County property tax payments from October through February.

Important - There is a 2.55% processing fee ($2.00 minimum charge) for taxes paid with a credit or debit card. There is a $1.00 processing fee for taxes paid with an E-Check. These fees are not retained by Metropolitan Government.
File Title VI Complaint
If you wish to file a complaint, please fill out the online pre-check form first and our office will contact you about your complaint. Please note that this does not constitute an official complaint with the Human Relations Commission.
You will be notified if the commission determines that your pre-check information should become an official complaint. Otherwise, our staff may refer you to another organization that is more appropriate for the type of complaint you have.
