To ensure privacy, security, timely submission, accuracy, and a complete form, we recommend using the Tennessee online voter registration site at your voter registration event: Tennessee Online Voter Registration System
Registrants can access the secure site on their personal cell phone, or you may provide a laptop or tablet. Name and address changes can also be submitted on this secure site.
We have reminder cards you can share if applicants prefer to complete their online registration at home.
If paper applications are used, please read below:
- Our Register To Vote page lists the requirements for registering to vote in Davidson County.
- Tennessee Mail-In Application For Voter Registration – This form can also be used for updating name changes (due to marriage or divorce) and address changes within Davidson County.
- Sample of Completed Application – This sample is an example of a properly completed application. Please have the applicant print their information on the form. Illegible information will slow the processing of a new application. Highlighted in yellow are parts of the form that are often skipped. Thank you for checking over the form, to make sure the applicant has completed all required questions, as incomplete applications cannot be processed.
- County Election Commission Address List – If you register residents of other Tennessee counties, please forward those applications to the proper county election commission offices or provide the applicants with the address of their county election commission office. If a Davidson County resident prefers to mail their application to us, please provide the Davidson County Election Commission mailing address.
- A person or organization collecting a voter registration form submitted by an applicant during a voter registration drive must deliver or mail the form to the county election commission in which the applicant resides within 15 calendar days of receipt of the form.

- GoVoteTN.gov - The official Tennessee election website contains helpful information (maintained by the Tennessee Secretary of State - Division of Elections).
- The GoVoteTN mobile app serves as an on-the-go reference tool, as residents may check if they are already registered, if they need to update their address, where they are assigned to vote on Election Day, etc.
- Create your own “I'm registered to vote. Are you?” sign – An eye-catching way to advertise your registration drive.
- Check our 2024 Election Calendar for registration deadlines. New registrations must be postmarked or hand-delivered to either of our offices no later than thirty (30) days before an election, in order to vote in that election.
