Overview
After the May 2010 Flood, there was an identified gap for a new state of the art unified mobile command vehicle.
'Command One' was designed from the ground up using approximately $862,000 of Homeland Security funds. The creation of Command One took over sixteen months and included input from Nashville OEM, Metro ITS, Metro Radio Shop, Metro Fleet, Metro Police and Fire Departments.
Command One is a Homeland Security District 5 asset, which includes the counties of Davidson, Cannon, Rutherford, Sumner, Trousdale, Williamson and Wilson counties. Command One is available for deployment upon request from the Nashville Office of Emergency Management.
Interior
The interior of Command One includes command and communication/dispatch area, conference and command section, slide outs for more interior working space, day/night work lighting throughout the interior, white boards throughout the interior, on-board weather station, numerous radio systems, network capabilities, multiple satellite capabilities, land-line hook-ups, GPS navigation, interior/exterior camera systems, smart boards, televisions and more.
Exterior
The exterior of Command One includes security and entry systems, state of the art leveling system, generator, camera capabilities, scene lighting, awnings and outside briefing area with monitor/tv, and communication connections.
