The National Domestic Preparedness Consortium
The National Domestic Preparedness Consortium is a partnership of several nationally recognized organizations whose membership is based on the urgent need to address the counter-terrorism preparedness needs of the nation’s emergency first responders within the context of all hazards including chemical, biological, radiological, and explosive Weapons of Mass Destruction hazards. Emergency Management Institute
EMI offers resident training courses such as the Integrated Emergency Management course, Professional Development, Master Trainer program etc. They also have dozens of non-resident independent study courses available online. Metro Nashville employees need to complete the Emergency Management Institute application for any resident course and submit it to Heidi Mariscal for processing.
Center for Domestic Preparedness

New Mexico Tech - Energetic Materials Research and Testing Center
Energetic Materials Research and Testing Center provides technical-level training programs on how to safely handle explosives. The course offers specialized training to personnel who have a significant responsibility in the research of explosives or responding to incidents involving explosive materials. TEEX: National Emergency Response and Rescue Training Center
The National Emergency Response and Rescue Training Center was established to train local and state officials and emergency responders to prepare for and respond to acts of terrorism, including those involving the use of weapons of mass destruction and other special incidents. This course is only offered to emergency responders and government employees.
Counter Terrorism Operations Support Program
The Counter Terrorism Operations Support Program at the Nevada Test Site oversees and conducts the training for emergency first responders. This training prepares the responders to take immediate, decisive action to prevent or mitigate terrorist use of radiological or nuclear weapons of mass destruction. Training courses and exercises conducted at the Nevada Test Site and municipality-hosted locations provide state and local first responders with the tools they need to protect their communities from these threats. These courses include: Weapons of Mass Destruction Radiological/Nuclear Awareness Train-the-Trainer, Weapons of Mass Destruction Radiological/Nuclear Responder Operations, Weapons of Mass Destruction Radiological/Nuclear Course for Hazardous Material Technicians, Detection Equipment for Law Enforcement Course, and Personal Radiation Detector Course. National Center for Biomedical Research and Training at Louisiana State University
The National Center for Biomedical Research and Training has developed many courses and delivered them for the U.S. Departments of Homeland Security, Justice, Health and Human Services, and Agriculture, as well as for State and local jurisdictions, non-governmental organizations, and the private sector. Courses deal with Weapons of Mass Destruction, counter-terrorism, and high consequence events, for all disciplines including emergency management, law enforcement (including tactical operations), HazMat teams, public health, EMS, hospital, agricultural, and others. The National Center for Biomedical Research and Training has also developed and delivered numerous workshops and seminars, developed scenarios and exercises, and has provided technical assistance to governmental and non-governmental entities.
