It’s Day 2 of Early Voting in Nashville and Davidson County election officials have a message for the community: the decision to cast a ballot is in your hands. If you show up to vote, you will be able to vote.
“We urge all Nashvillians to participate in the election process,” said Jeff Roberts, Davidson County Administrator of Elections. “With multiple options for voting, the choice is completely up to you. No one will be turned away or denied access.”
“Whether you choose Early or Election Day voting, we will ensure every citizen can exercise their right to vote,” emphasized Roberts. “Sometimes issues arise, but we have a failsafe – the provisional ballot. The provisional process allows voter eligibility to be determined. Human error can happen, but regardless of the problem, everyone who comes in person to vote will be given the opportunity to cast a ballot.”
“Approximately 1,400 Poll Officials will be working this election,” continued Roberts. “These are your friends and neighbors who have stepped up to make sure your voice is heard. They will work diligently to move you through the voting process as quickly as possible, so please be patient as they carefully perform their duties. Without them, elections are not possible. Early Voting workers are particularly appreciated, as their obligation can extend up to 14 days. Their dedication enables many of us to avoid Election Day crowds, bad weather, and to incorporate voting more easily into our busy schedules. I hope you will join me in thanking the Poll Officials who help you.”
