The Equal Business Opportunity Program Report details efficacy of the race and gender specific equal business opportunity program. Highlights from July 1, 2021 to June 30, 2022 include:
- $192 million in proposed spending with black and brown owned firms; this is a $67 million or 54% increase over fiscal year 2021.
- $323 million in proposed spending with women owned firms; this is a $224 million or 226% increase over fiscal year 2021.
- 12% average proposed subcontract participation for women owned firms; this is 3% above market availability.
- 7% average proposed subcontract participation for black and brown owned firms; this is 1% below market availability.
- 100% of contracts completed in FY 22 met or exceeded their proposed subcontractor participation goal for black and brown owned firms.
- 75% of contracts completed in FY 22 met or exceeded their proposed subcontractor participation goal for women owned firms.
As required by law, Metro is currently engaged in a disparity study to update availability data and assess program goals. The results are due in mid-2023.
