Mayor John Cooper
Dr. Ellen Clayton, Vanderbilt University
Ellen Wright Clayton is a law professor and pediatrician who for decades has been a passionate defender of the rights of individuals to make their own reproductive choices. She has served on the board of Planned Parenthood, led national studies about access to contraception, and taught and written numerous articles about reproductive rights.
Dr. Kim Looney, Meharry Medical College
Dr. Kim Looney is a Nashville native and an OB/GYN whose career is dedicated to women's health, reproductive health and complex contraception. She was trained at Emory University and has decades of experience teaching medical students and residents over the last 20 years.
Dr. Carolyn Thompson
Carolyn Thompson, MD, FACOG, is a local physician with 25 years clinical experience providing general OB-GYN care in the Nashville area. She's served on the board of Planned Parenthood.
Wallace Dietz, Metropolitan Government Law Director
Mr. Dietz has over 35 years of experience as a practicing attorney. Prior to his appointment as Law Director by Mayor Cooper, he served as chair of the Compliance & Government Investigations Group at Bass, Berry & Sims in their Nashville and Washington, D.C. offices. In 2002, the Nashville Bar Association awarded him the Liberty Bell Award in recognition of his pro bono work in international human rights.
Bill Harbison, Partner, Sherrard Roe Voigt & Harbison, PLC
Mr. Harbison has 42 years as a practicing attorney, and works primarily in the areas of corporate law and trusts and estates. In 2015, Harbison was one of the lawyers on the Obergefell v. Hodges case who argued successfully that same sex marriage is a constitutional right.
Francie Hunt, Executive Director at Tennessee Advocates for Planned Parenthood (Moderator)
Francie Hunt was the previous director with Stand for Children, which helped successfully passed Tennessee’s voluntary pre-kindergarten program impacting over 16,000 at-risk 4-year-olds, and helped garner Race to the Top funding for Tennessee’s public schools. Her most important, favorite job is being the mother of Eliza, age 21 and Isaac, age 16.
