VOAD runs NashvilleResponds.com, and it streamlines resources and philanthropy, so aid can get to Nashvillians as quickly as possible.
Some of the resources available to our neighbors in need through NashvilleResponds.com are shelter, food support, clothing, hygiene, infant needs, emergency financial assistance, pet needs, medical aid, transportation, debris removal, tarping, and counseling services.
Mayor O’Connell has visited affected areas around the city and the Red Cross shelter to hear the needs of our neighbors displaced by the storm. According to the Office of Emergency Management, at least 22 structures collapsed in the storm and countless others were damaged.
The work that the Office of Emergency Management, Nashville Department of Transportation and Nashville Electric Service are doing will continue in the coming days. NES has reduced the number of Nashvillians without power to 6,000 even as at least one substation in northern Davidson County sustained damage.
Attached to this release is also a series of photos of Mayor O’Connell as he toured the northern part of the county.
