On Sunday, December 12, the Participatory Budgeting Budget Delegates will hold its first-ever Vote Expo at the Nashville Public Library Bordeaux Branch from 2:30 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. The event will allow for residents living within the Bordeaux-North Nashville participatory budgeting region a chance to learn more about the process and vote for the 2021 ballot items.
Mayor John Cooper will attend the expo and highlight the need for community input through the voting process. Some of the community ideas on the ballot include public art, street beautification, and improvements to community centers, playgrounds and pavilions at parks and schools. Projects with the most votes, not totaling more than $2 million will be funded.
Online voting will be open from December 8 to December 18, paper ballot voting will start on December 12 and end on December 18. The results will be announced on January 11, 2022. Residents 14 and older may either vote online, by mail, or in person at the Nashville Public Library Bordeaux Branch, Hadley Park Community Center and the Mayor’s Office lobby. Pearl Cohn students may vote at their school.
