The Community Safety Partnership Fund Advisory Board, commissioned by Mayor John Cooper, has recommended the approval of grants totaling $820,000 for 14 local nonprofit organizations working to improve safety in and around the Napier and Sudekum Communities.
“I am excited about this life changing investment. Community safety requires community solutions,” said Mayor Cooper. “These small grants will have a big impact in helping to make our neighborhoods safer and meaningfully address violent crime in our communities. I’m grateful to Sudekum RA President Jameka Usher and Napier Place RA President Michael Mooney for their leadership in this initiative, as well as to the Community Safety Advisory Board, chaired by YWCA President and CEO Sharon Roberson, for their hard work in making all of this happen. Congrats to all the organizations.”
