The Participatory Budgeting Project Steering Committee selected 17 Bordeaux and North Nashville residents who submitted applications to serve as budget delegates. All residents reside within the project boundary.
The selected delegates will receive training on their role, including learning the legal, finance and equity specifics of a participatory budgeting project process.
“I am very grateful to the local residents who stepped forward to volunteer in leading the effort of transforming the Bordeaux and North Nashville communities’ ideas into proposals,” said Mayor John Cooper. “The delegates’ help is paramount to the participatory budgeting process.”
On October 18, 2021, delegates will meet once a week until December 1 with Metro departments to transform the submitted community ideas into full proposals. Residents, living within the project boundary, will then vote for the finalized proposals in December.
