Teams formed to travel to Emergency Shelters to help clients
The Nashville Office of Emergency Management is forming a Disaster Survivor Assistance Team. The team will travel to the Emergency Shelters at Centennial Sportsplex and Smith Springs Community Center starting Monday, March 9, 2020.
The Disaster Survivor Assistance Team was formed to reach clients staying at the Emergency Shelters, who may not be able to get to one of the Disaster Assistance Centers.
The team will work to help clients begin the application process for FEMA benefits. They will bring laptops and all other necessary supplies for applicants to complete their registration on-site.
Additional information and resources will be provided for the Red Cross, Mental Health services and other support services.
After Monday, the team will continue to go to Centennial Sportsplex until all clients have been registered.
The Disaster Assistance Centers are open daily from 9am – 6pm and located at the following:
- East Park Community Center (600 Woodland Street)
- Hadley Park Community Center (1037 28th Ave N.)
- Hermitage Community Center (3720 James Kay Lane)
