Metro Storm Tactical Response Neighborhood Group (Metro-STRNG) will clear areas of hazards to allow recovery efforts to safely begin around Davidson County
The Nashville Office of Emergency Management is forming a task force of Urban Search and Rescue personnel from OEM, the Nashville Fire Department, Metro Nashville Police Department, NES and an EMS ATV to assess damaged areas for hazards prior to widespread recovery efforts by the public.
The Metro Storm Tactical Response Neighborhood Group (Metro-STRNG) will go into heavily damaged areas in North Nashville, East Nashville, Germantown and Donelson/Hermitage.
Metro-STRNG will make sure the area and path that volunteers will use are going to be safe for them to enter.
The task force made of 10 teams of four will begin from East to West along the path of the tornado to clear areas. Each team will have a member of NFD, MNPD, Public Works and NES.
Metro-STRNG will also utilize an unmanned aerial system (UAS) to survey damaged areas from the air to provide a better perspective of the surveyed area.
