Metro Public Works announced progress on tornado recovery efforts in neighborhoods impacted by the devastating March 3 tornadoes.
As of 4 p.m. on Saturday, March 7:
- 60 trucks have been out since early this morning collecting curbside debris. Twenty-five of those trucks have a 150 cubic yard capacity.
- 6 trash trucks are out collecting household trash from affected areas. We will add additional trash pick-up capacity as is necessary.
- 15 right-of-way crews are out clearing streets and alleys.
- 19 signals are undamaged but awaiting power to be restored.
- 2 signals are damaged and awaiting repair.
- 4 signals at major intersections are running on generator power.
- 89 signs have been repaired or replaced, with 40 more signs waiting to be replaced when crews can access them.
